2025: GeoMarvel Year In Review

Overview

2025 has been an exciting and impactful year for the GeoMarvel team! Today, we’re proud to share our Year in Review, highlighting the projects we delivered, events we participated in, and the key milestones and achievements that defined our year.

2025 Events

GeoMarvel Summit 2025

The GeoMarvel Summit 2025, held in February in Alexandria, Virginia, brought the team together for our annual internal conference focused on alignment, collaboration, and continued growth. The event featured a balanced mix of organizational and technical sessions, with team-led presentations designed to strengthen shared practices, expand technical expertise, and reinforce priorities for the year ahead.

The Summit concluded with a memorable team outing aboard the Capital Elite yacht, provided by City Cruises Washington, DC, where the team enjoyed a karaoke cruise along the Potomac River. The experience offered a fun and relaxed way to celebrate our people, strengthen connections, and wrap up an energizing and impactful Summit.

GeoMarvel attended the 2025 Esri Southeast User Conference in Atlanta, where GIS professionals from across the region came together to share ideas, technical expertise, and real-world applications of Esri technology. The event provided a strong forum for learning, with sessions highlighting innovative uses of ArcGIS to address challenges across public and private sectors.

Our team valued the opportunity to connect with Esri staff, partners, and peers, exchange insights, and engage in conversations around emerging geospatial trends and best practices. The conference reinforced the strength of the Southeast GIS community and the importance of collaboration, professional development, and practical, impact-driven spatial solutions.

GeoMarvel was honored to attend Esri’s 45th User Conference in San Diego, where our team actively contributed to the week’s conversations around integration, cloud infrastructure, and the future of GIS. GeoMarvel CEO Jon Nordling delivered a Partner Lightning Talk introducing Spatial.Host, followed by a full Partner Presentation detailing the platform’s features and roadmap for modernizing geospatial deployments. GeoMarvel also partnered with NatureServe during the Nonprofit & Business Forum: Biodiversity Data Insights, supporting a live demo of the InSite Application, a new biodiversity reporting product developed with GeoMarvel, and helping facilitate discussion around emerging spatial data needs for conservation and business use cases.

Beyond the conference sessions, GeoMarvel hosted its first-ever Esri UC Pickleball Social at The Hub – San Diego, bringing attendees together for friendly competition, food, drinks, and offsite networking. The event capped off an impactful week of learning, collaboration, and connection, reinforcing GeoMarvel’s commitment to supporting the geospatial community through innovative solutions, strong partnerships, and a little fun along the way.

GeoMarvel attended the 35th Annual Minnesota GIS/LIS Conference in Duluth, Minnesota as a Bronze Sponsor, where GIS and LIS professionals from across the state gathered to explore emerging technologies and best practices in geospatial innovation. GeoMarvel was represented by CEO Jon Nordling and Associate Director of Services Carolyn Gamble, who led a featured session focused on the evolving needs of modern Enterprise GIS environments.

Our presentation, “Modernizing Enterprise GIS in the Cloud: Patterns, Practices, and Real-World Lessons,” examined the shift from on-premise systems to cloud-based GIS architectures. Through practical examples and real-world case studies, they highlighted common modernization challenges, demonstrated the benefits of cloud adoption, and shared how organizations are using Spatial.Host to streamline deployments, improve performance, and reduce operational overhead. Attendees left with actionable insights to support cloud migration and long-term GIS strategy.

GeoMarvel was pleased to attend MGT’s Professional Development Week at their Riverside office, joining the Facility and GIS teams for a focused week of learning, collaboration, and professional growth. The event underscored MGT’s strong commitment to investing in their people and building the skills that drive effective, client-centered outcomes.

We valued the opportunity to collaborate with MGT and Esri through engaging discussions and hands-on sessions, sharing practical insights around GIS and facility management. The week reinforced the importance of strong partnerships, continuous learning, and innovation in supporting meaningful client engagement and long-term success.

Esri Philadelphia December 2025 Onsite

GeoMarvel’s Jon Nordling and Ryan McGrath traveled to Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, to meet with our new Esri Partner Manager, Justin Collins. The day began with a look back at GeoMarvel’s journey and the many successful collaborations we’ve shared with Esri over the past decade. From there, the conversation turned toward the future, focusing on opportunities for continued growth together. We also met with the Small Business Account Team to develop clear talking points around positioning and bundling our collective offerings. As GeoMarvel continues to evolve, we’re grateful for the ongoing partnership and support from the Esri team in helping drive our growth.
