The Esri Infrastructure Management and GIS Conference (IMGIS) is an annual event that connects utility professionals with other industry experts to share the latest and greatest GIS solutions and products. Led by professionals specializing in infrastructure management from several interconnected industries, the IMGIS conference provides a valuable learning experience for organizations to move their location intelligence and GIS forward. It supports best practices for field operations, location and design integration, engineering workflows, analytics, infrastructure, facilities management, and more.
This year GeoMarvel had the privilege of bringing a few of our team members to the conference as representatives of the company. With over 125+ learning sessions and presentations, there was plenty of content for our team to take part in. Some of the hot topics that stood out at this year’s conference included: Latest update on ArcGIS Utility Network, new features for Site Scan for ArcGIS, GeoAI, ArcGIS GeoAnalytics Engine, ArcGIS Pro 3.0, Digital Twin Technology, ArcGIS Online November updates, future ArcGIS Enterprise 11.x updates, ArcGIS Field Maps updates, and SURE For ArcGIS; just to name a few.

Moving forward it seems that there was a clear vision for Esri as an organization, as President Jack Dandermond repeatedly turned to the theme of the conference, GIS – Mapping Common Ground. Mapping common ground can be described as the foundation for positive action. It required considering ALL factors. Mr. Dangermond views mapping as a fundamental language that lets us tell stories about the world as it is today, and the future we want to see. With that in mind, Jack also shares his vision of ArcGIS as the foundation for creating location intelligence and sustainability for a brighter future.
The Esri Infrastructure Management & GIS Conference is not only an amazing learning experience, but it’s a great way to connect and share your accomplishments with other professionals alike. It’s always great when our team is able to visit other parts of the country, while interacting and observing other business professionals that are also moving the world of GIS forward. These events are always special events, and we can’t wait to see what next year has in store!
