GIS Developer

GeoMarvel is seeking to expand its team with a passionate and well-rounded GIS Developer. The selected applicant will have the opportunity to work with new and emerging technologies in a collaborative environment to support development and configuration of GIS applications, perform scripting against databases/geodatabases, creating ETL pipelines and automation activities, developing geoprocessing tools, and providing technical advising and implementation of Web and Enterprise GIS concepts and products downstream. Our business portfolio is composed of entities from all across the globe, including members from the Fortune 500 list, various non-profits, disaster relief organizations, utility companies, and many other lines of business.

• Expertise in programming languages including Python, ArcPy, ArcGIS API for Python
• Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, including Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server roles, Data Store, Web Adaptors
• Should be proficient in developing geoprocessing and automation tools, including data ETL pipelines
• Should be proficient in leveraging REST APIs and using documentation to learn new modules/libraries
• Must have the ability to effectively communicate complex technical solutions with technical and non-technical teams alike
• Design solutions using ArcGIS environments, including developing and testing code for multiple platforms and environments
• Should have a well-rounded understanding of the ArcGIS ecosystem, including ArcGIS Enterprise/Online, ArcGIS Pro workflows, and the suite of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications
• Should have significant experience in configuring and extending solutions within the ArcGIS ecosystem

• Engage with GeoMarvel clients on a regular basis, implementing technical solutions while fostering organizational GIS growth and system stability
• Communicate effectively with internal and external teams to provide regular project updates
• Work independently and in collaboration with members of product and design teams
• Collaborate with partnering technical teams to ensure seamless integrated end-to-end solutions
• Open mindset to working with and picking up new technologies to achieve design, code, testing, and deployment tasks
• Research and learn new methodologies and technologies and bring new knowledge to the team

• A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems, Geographic Information Science, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems from an accredited University, or a current equivalent GIS professional certification
• A minimum of two years of professional experience, in addition to the education or experience requirements above, which demonstrates hands-on proficiency
• Customer service orientation with clear and professional communication
• Problem-solving, writing, interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
