Position Overview

The Geospatial Business Development Representative is GeoMarvel’s primary inside sales and business development resource, responsible for generating new opportunities, qualifying leads, supporting early-stage sales conversations, and helping move prospects through the sales process. This position reports directly to the Director of Business Development and works closely with leadership and technical stakeholders to support revenue growth, maintain pipeline activity, customer relations, and ensure opportunities are documented and advanced effectively.

This role is modeled on the inside sales function, with emphasis on inbound and outbound outreach, relationship building, CRM discipline, and customer-focused discovery. In addition, this role assists in the development, coordination, and execution of commercial sales documents, including master service agreements, statements of work, and purchase orders, in partnership with the Director of Business Development and internal delivery stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct outbound prospecting through calls, emails, LinkedIn, campaigns, referrals, and follow-up on inbound inquiries to generate new business opportunities.
  • Build relationships with prospective clients and partner contacts across assigned target markets and industries.
  • Qualify leads through introductory discovery conversations to understand business needs, pain points, technical environment, and potential fit for GeoMarvel services.
  • Support maintaining and managing an active pipeline of prospects and opportunities, ensuring timely follow-up and consistent movement through the sales process.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Business Development to develop target account lists, outreach strategies, and messaging aligned with GeoMarvel’s service offerings and growth priorities.
  • Support the preparation of sales materials, client summaries, meeting notes, and other business development documentation needed to progress opportunities.
  • Assist in the development, coordination, review, and execution of master service agreements, statements of work, purchase orders, and related sales documents in partnership with leadership and technical teams.
  • Help ensure customer requirements, assumptions, timelines, and scope details are clearly documented for internal review and downstream delivery readiness.
  • Coordinate with delivery and technical stakeholders to support smooth transition of signed work into onboarding and execution.
  • Support email campaigns, event follow-up, digital outreach, and related lead-generation activities that strengthen GeoMarvel’s brand visibility and business development performance.
  • Source, analyze and qualify RFP and RFI opportunities, making recommendations on bid/no-bid decisions based on strategic fit, competitiveness and resource availability.
  • Track outreach activity, campaign results, pipeline status, and opportunity progress, and prepare recurring reports for the Director of Business Development.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, notes, stages, next steps, and forecasts to support visibility, accountability, and reporting.
  • Represent GeoMarvel in virtual events, webinars, partner interactions, and occasional industry events to support awareness and opportunity creation.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in inside sales, business development, sales support, client relationship management, or a similar customer-facing role.
  • Experience with outbound outreach, lead qualification, follow-up, and pipeline coordination in a professional services, software, SaaS, or technology environment is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with prospective clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially when managing follow-up tasks, CRM records, and sales documentation.
  • Ability to support the preparation and coordination of commercial documents such as service agreements, statements of work, purchase orders, or similar client-facing business documents.
  • Experience using CRM platforms and productivity tools to track sales activity, manage pipeline, and support reporting; Salesforce experience is preferred.
  • Customer-oriented, responsive, coachable, and motivated to learn GeoMarvel’s offerings and the ArcGIS ecosystem.
