GIS Developer

GeoMarvel is seeking to expand its team with a passionate and well-rounded GIS Developer. The selected applicant will have the opportunity to work with new and emerging technologies in a collaborative environment to support development and configuration of GIS applications, perform scripting against databases/geodatabases, creating ETL pipelines and automation activities, developing geoprocessing tools, and providing technical advising and implementation of Web and Enterprise GIS concepts and products downstream.

• Must have a well-rounded understanding of the ArcGIS ecosystem, including ArcGIS Enterprise/Online, ArcGIS Pro workflows, and the suite of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications
• Must be proficient in programming languages: Python and SQL
• Must have expert knowledge of ArcGIS Online and WebMap Configurations
• Should have significant experience in configuring in extending ArcGIS Web Applications 
• Should be proficient in developing geoprocessing/automation tools, data ETL pipelines
• Should be proficient in leveraging REST APIs and using documentation to learn new modules/libraries
• Must have the ability to effectively communicate complex technical solutions with technical and non-technical teams
• Design solutions, write and test code, automation testing & deployments

• Engage with GeoMarvel clients on a regular basis, implementing technical solutions while fostering organizational GIS growth and system stability
• Communicate effectively with internal and external teams to provide regular project updates
• Advise on best practices for GIS data standardization, ArcGIS user/group management, and geodatabase strategies
• Work independently or in collaboration with members of product and design teams
• Collaborate with partnering tech teams to ensure seamless integrated end-to-end solutions
• Open mindset to working with and picking up new technologies to achieve design, code, testing, and deployment tasks
• Research and learn new methodologies and technologies and bring new knowledge to the team

• A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems, Geographic Information Science, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems from an accredited University, or a current equivalent GIS professional certification
• A minimum of two years of professional experience, in addition to the education or experience requirements above, which demonstrates hands-on proficiency as a GIS Application Developer
• Exceptional customer service orientation with clear and professional communication
• Excellent problem-solving, writing, interpersonal, presentation, and organizational skills
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
