The Esri User Conference (UC) is an annual gathering that brings together GIS professionals, industry experts, Esri partners, and ArcGIS users across various sectors to interact, learn, and strengthen relationships and advancements within the GIS community. This year marks the 43rd Annual Esri User Conference, a testament to its enduring significance. With an attendance of over 18,000 from more than 130 countries, this event is highly anticipated by the GIS community worldwide. This year’s conference placed an emphasis on how the use of GIS can help to create a more sustainable, equitable, and prosperous world, proposing the question “What kind of world do you want to see?
Some memorable topics from this year’s event include the unveiling of Esri’s new global OpenStreetMap 3D Scene Layers (offered in Living Atlas), newly released features in ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Reality, which combines a suite of photogrammetry software products with the ArcGIS ecosystem to “turn imagery into visually stunning and highly accurate maps and 3D models.”
Another topic of particular interest to the GeoMarvel team is Esri’s upcoming release of ArcGIS Video Server, which will be able to seamlessly integrate video as another spatial data source within existing enterprise GIS workflows. This update also involves the introduction of video analysis capabilities within ArcGIS Excalibur, which currently supports high resolution imagery exploitation for analysis! ArcGIS Video Server is expected to be released for ArcGIS Enterprise by the end of 2023.
